Default google adsense

My friend is paying a lot for google adsense and isnt getting very far with
it, its costing her £100 a month and has done for a long time. What is a
really good way to drive traffic to her site apart from the usual keywords,
tags etc. She wants to be fairly high up in google.

Any suggestions much appreciated!

The way Google works is it looks at the content on the page, and
checks that you don't have the word sex typed 800 times. Then it looks
at how the page is formatted. then it looks at in and outbound.
Depending on what those links are, can help/hurt you... I would say
good page formatting (using like header tags), and solid linking is
what I heard. Something that I believe in, that isn't published
anywhere is the amount of content you have. I think of this in terms
of a blog. You can post once a week or 3 times a day. If you are
doing multiple times a day and the posts have substance, people will
probably read yo more, and then link you more probably.

I have great luck with google adsense. I limit paying for clicks to local
users. You can elect to only pay for ads from people in your geography. I
also turned off the advertising network, where you end up on all the
sponsored site ads. I was getting lots of curiosity clicks that cost me
money but didn't lead to new business.
