I'm wondering if anyone has attempted to run Flash Media Encoder Live on an
Intel Atom based system. I've recently ordered a mini 9" laptop from Dell, and it comes equipped with a Intel® Atom Processor® N270 (1.6GHz/533Mhz FSB/512K cache), 1gb of ram, and a 16gb solid state hard drive. I'm going to be testing this out when I receive the laptop in the next week. It has a 1.3mp web camera integrated into it, so that will make testing easier. For more information on the laptop I'm talking about, you can check it out here: http://www.dell.com/content/products...spiron-9?c=us& cs=19&l=en&s=dhs |

SUCCESS! Just loaded up flash media encoder and connected to one of my flash
streaming servers. The little 9" laptop handled it beautifully. This is on the battery, wireless internet. I did notice one thing though, I set the FPS to 30, and the highest it would go was 15-16. Not sure if its throttling the fps because of battery power, the ~36mbps wireless connection or what, but I'm happy with the results! I'll try again on the battery and plugged into the gigabit eithernet we have here at the office and report the results. Check out the images.
