Hi,
I am using a ATI TV Wonder 650 PCI for capturing live TV content to stream using FME 2.5. I am able to stream the video, but there is no Audio. when I choose ATI AVStream Analog Audio Capture, it does not seem to populate the sample rate and hence there is an error. Now I am able to get Audio in another way, here I open up another application which shows the Live TV, and all of a sudden FME voice bar shows activity. And streams Audio. The problem here is The Audio is slower than the video when I start streaming, so they are not in sync. Any Ideas where could be the issue. Thanks SJ |

Changing the codec (nelly/mp3/aac) might populate the sample rate dropdown,
because different sample rates are supported for different codecs: mp3: 11025, 22050, 44100 aac: 8000, 11025, 22050, 32000, 44100, 48000 nelly: 8000, 11025, 22050, 44100 For the sync issue, can you please further elaborate. what exactly are you trying to do. Can you list out exact steps and attach log file? |

Thanks for the reply.
There is nothing showing other than MP3 and the Sample Rate field is empty. I tried making changes to the profile xml file thinking it will make any difference, but it did not. As for the sync Issue. I choose ATI Av Stream Video Capture for Video and my on board Realtek Audio. Now the Audio does not come up, until I open up another application the "Catalyst Media Center". Now with both my encoder and Catalyst Media center open, I can start streaming. However I see that the Video comes up as much as 2 seconds earlier than the audio. I am assuming this has something to do with Encoder taking the audio from my mixer rather than directly from the capture device. (Will post the log in my next post) |

There may be a clue in the statement "all of a sudden FME voice bar shows
activity. And streams Audio" along with "ATI AVStream Analog" I had a very old TV card (not this model though) for which the audio driver was non-standard. Audio was only sent to the sound card when the provided TV application was running, and there were no updated drivers for my OS. My understanding is this was done because of Audio sync issues over the limited bandwidth of the PCI bus. The idea that AVStreamAnalog is available suggests the device may be doing the same thing - sending *only* video through a regular, system accessible hardware driver, and audio is routed only to the sound card - that is, it doesn't appear as a capture device (though the sound card will, obviously) I guess the acid test would be to try this in another program - for example windows media encoder - to see if the device configuration / property page is available, or if it too shows no audio sample device for that card. Analog TV cards are very cheap, so grabbing a replacement should be pretty simple to test with. HTH |

I am currently using this ATI 650 Pro card for Streaming Live content using
Windows Media encoder. But when I try the Adobe encoder it seems to give all kinds of issues. I also checked and saw that I have all latest drivers. Since I am streaming video content, think I will now have to get a new TV Tuner card, are there any recommended ones? Ones that don't have any issues of running continuously and unattended for application errors etc. Thanks SJ |

TV Tuner cards do the opposite of Broadcasting. You will need something that
spits out media (a video camera, a dvd player etc.). If you bought a 1,000.00 TV tuner card-you would still not have anything coming out as a Broadcast. They are made to do something different, to receive a Broadcast....This drove us crazy for about a month. After umpteen million new and used cards, we decided to start our own field testing and started chewing on every option that came to mind. One day all the magic worked.......... |

I have a TV channel which my client wants to be web streamed. So is there anything other than a TV tuner which does a tuning to receive a satellite channel?
