Default linecount property not found

Hi

i have a text cast member on the screen called "cycle text". I have placed it
on the stage. As the user carries out various things, the text in the cast
member is updated. I am looking for a way to determine the height of this
sprite on stage as the text changes.

I have tried sprite(25).height, and this always returns the height the sprite
sprite was when it was added.

I have tried member("cycle text").lineCount, but get a "property not found"
error.

I'm sure i am missing something obvious, but can not see it. Does anyone have
any suggestions?

Thanks

Try this:

member("cycle text").line.count

The property "lineCount" is only available for #field members, not #text
members.

Thanks for the clarification of how lineCount works. Unfortunately line.count
did not suit this purpose as it does not react to wrapped lines.

However your anser did enable me to find out that what I was after was in fact

member("cycle text).height

Thanks for the help

Pat
