I wonder if anyone can help me. We use Freehand 9 to produce graphics and
someone has asked us to create a graphic in gif format that is no more than 15kb in size and 933 x 699dpi. I've spent a lot of time playing around with the original drawing to alter the properties but, as yet, have not achieved the desired result. Is there some easy way to achieve this? |

You'd be far better off to use a web-graphics program like Fireworks or ImageReady for this task. Each has specialized tools for optimizing images. Judy Arndt |

To make it smaller - Reduce numer of coloros from 256 to 128 or even 64 - Avoid using gradients, because dithering increase file size and wthout dithering they'll become banded. - Solid color areas make small files. - Use Adaptive or Selective palette instead of Web palette for better quality.
