I wonder if anyone can help me. We use Freehand 9 to produce graphics and
someone has asked us to create a graphic in gif format that is no more than
15kb in size and 933 x 699dpi. I've spent a lot of time playing around with
the original drawing to alter the properties but, as yet, have not achieved the
desired result. Is there some easy way to achieve this?

You'd be far better off to use a web-graphics program like Fireworks or
ImageReady for this task. Each has specialized tools for optimizing images.

And even with those tools image that big is difficult to squeeze into 15kb.

To make it smaller
- Reduce numer of coloros from 256 to 128 or even 64
- Avoid using gradients, because dithering increase file size and wthout dithering they'll become banded.
- Solid color areas make small files.
- Use Adaptive or Selective palette instead of Web palette for better quality.
