In Freehand 9, why do objects switch layers with no help from me? I can put
all the other layers below the line in the Layers pallet, turn them off and
lock them. But if I ungroup a group of objects on the one active layer,
they'll turn invisble as they move to one of those locked and turned off
layers. It's infuriating. What's the point in having locked layers if
objects can move there indiscriminately and with no instruction from me to
do so? The layer is LOCKED. It's turned OFF. I want NOTHING to do with it
currently. Stop moving my ungrouped objects there!

So anybody know how to set up Freehand 9 so stuff on one layer doesn't jump
to other layers when I hightlight them?
