Default Grid won't show

I am using Freehand and trying to grid off but the grid won't show.I know where the menu is but it simply doesn't seem to work. Anyone else seem to have that problem? Know how to fix it? Thanks

This is a known issue on Mac OS X. If you enter *two* custom keyboard
shortcuts, the second shortcut will work. Likewise for show/hide guides and
snap to grids and guides.

So I should maybe copy something and then show the grids? It didn't work for entering the show guides twice so I am just trying to think of something. Thanks for the info.

Go to Edit>Keyboard shortcuts>Grid>Show. Assign a second keyboard shortcut.

The second keyboard shortcut assigned will work. You *must* use the second
keyboard shortcut to show and hide guides. The first keyboard shortcut and
the menu commands will remain non-functional.

It's a conflict with Mac OS X.

Thanks so much. Now if I can just get the grid size to actually change I will be doing good. The document is set up to points but the grid seems to be stuck.

Are you saying that View>Grid>Edit is not working? It's working fine here.

That is correct. At least I can't make it any smaller than 8 grids wide by 10
tall or so.It seems to be stuck at inches, even though I have changed the
numbers to picas, points, inches etc. and had everything from .000000010 to
400. At the larger numbers it does change but nothing much happens at the
smaller numbers. I was hoping to treat it as sort of graph paper but that
doesn't seem to want to work.

Every point of a grid does not display, even though you can snap to each
position. Showing every point would become visually overwhelming with tight
grids.

Try using guides instead. You can set a series of evenly spaced guides using
the Edit Guides dialog.

View>Guides>Edit>Add>By increment

If you want to print your 'graph paper' guides, go into the Edit Guides
dialog, shift-click on all of them and Release. This makes the guides into
ordinary paths.
