I have a Mac G4, OSX 10.3.9. I have used FreeHand MX on this Mac for years.

I had to reinstall and update the OS (still 10.3.9). Then FreeHand wouldn't
work, so I uninstalled and then reinstalled Studio MX 2004 but only Flash
works. Dreamweaver, Fire works and FreeHand won't open. They start to launch -
then just stop after about 2 seconds.

I have trashed the "user" prefs for these apps but that doesn't seem to help.
Have also verified and repaired all permissions, still no luck. FreeHand is my
primary "work" app. Can anyone help?

I think the Hotfix might be the answer for this. Try downloading it here:
