> How can I use the knife tool along an other path. so that the knife follows a path and divide every other path along the first path? Maybe by not using knife tool at all. Especially if the cuttinhg line is not straight. There is object & point snap but it works only for the starting point (!?). I usually create a copy of the cutting line, then create two cutter shapes that enclose the aprropriate parts of the objects. Then just use either crop tool or intersect tool. Note that you have to make duplicates of the objets before cutting. One copy for each part. If you use the cutter twice you have to duplicate that too.I usually create a hidden 'store layer' where I keep backups of the original objects. In general it is good to use simple objets for cutting, measuring, aligning ... Jukka |

FYI: You don't have to make duplicate objects if you turn off the Object
Preference: "Path operations consume original paths" But then of course you have to get used to deleting the path if you wanted it gone.
