Default FH to SVG? Possible?

Is there anyway to go from Freehand to SVG without Adobe Illustrator? I'd
like to import some drawings into inkscape, but the files aren't
transferring well when exporting and importing as .ai files.

Anyway to go directly from FH to SVG with some converter app?

I suppose you just have to export your freehand file as an illustrator 7 (.ai) then import it into Inkscape. Hope it works ;-)

I finally found a way to do it, but I'm not in front of my Mac at the
moment.

There is a command line converter tool available for OSX...let me google...

(googling...)

I think this might have been the one:
