Hi
Here's the problem, I'm trying to help a person install freehand mx 11 over the phone and they are not real computer knowledgeable. Here's what they said They are running xp, when getting to the part of install freehand that requires the serial number, they put in the number but there is a "NEXT" button that won't highlight to let them click to proceed. No messages show up, they just can't go any further because the button is dead. Do they they have to be online for the "NEXT" button to highlight and let them proceed? What else could be happening? Thanks Frank |

Usually the Next button does not highlight until the install program
recognizes the serial number as a valid formated number. It's most likely they are missing a number, used lowercase letters instead of uppercase, did not use dashes when required (or vice versa), or something else small but wrong. MX does require product activation but if they are not online it should give them the option to call a toll-free number. Hi Frank,
AFAIK the 'next' button highlites only if the number entered is a valid serial number. They need to enter the serial number in groups of 5 letters/numbers without dashes or spaces. (The first box however contains 6 characters: FHD + 3 numbers) HTH Willem van den Goorbergh |

Thanks for the info.
Freehand comes with 2 disks one for old windows systems one for new. The disk for old only have one serial number field box when running on a new system and will not accept the serial number. The disk for new system has has the proper four fields and will accept it. Adobe had put two old systems disks in the box. |
