Default Thank You Adobe for Killing Freehand

Well Adobe you've done it...finally kiling the only competition you had in
Aldus Freehand. Yeah, Yeah, whatever Crackromedia. Let's kill the only program
that actually does things easier and better than the postscipt gods can do it.
Yes, I know you invented the PS language, thanks for that. But....Frustrator is
kinda sickening to try to use. Instead of a few clicks, let's make the user do
10 clicks! What a concept. If I hear "Oh, but Illustrator users use alot more
keyboard commands than the average user, I'm gonnaPUKE!" Ok, I have to rant
here. I will use FH until they pry it from my cold dead fingers...

Ahhh, yes... the old evil corporation mantra. It does get a bit tired after
about the fiftieth time.

By all means, stay with FH! But in here you are preaching to the converted, my
bruddahs. Go over to the Illy forums and try to raise some hackles there...
that's the bolder thing to do. This particular place is destined for entombment.

Freehand sucks! It gives me a lot of headaches compared to Illustrator. The xports are terrible and it doesn't work as well as Illustrator with Photoshop.

What can be done to bring Freehand back? I HATE the clunkiness of Illustrator. To what software gods do we need appeal?

I honestly don't think anything can be done. Adobe has made a business
decision, and that's that.

It would be nice if they offered us a really good discount path to either
Illustrator or In-Design depending on our current uses of Freehand. Barring
that, I will continue to use Freehand until changes in Mac OS render it
inoperable. By that time, hopefully, an open source program like Scribus
will be able to step up to the plate.

I just found out about this "problem". As I understand it , FreeHand MX
will not work with the new Macs with the Intel chip-- that is what Adobe says
when i call. When I walk into the local Apple store they say is will
work...just not as well. Who do I believe- the software manufacturer or the
computer/OS/chip manufacturer? Just asking becuse I may HAVE to buy a new Mac
and was told to ask all my software producers if their products will work with
the new Intel chip.
I have never seen Illustrator (used FH since the Aldus days), but from the
comments here I am guessing they are not an easy exchange. Yes? No? Adobe DID
say Illustrator will open FreeHand files, so at least there is that.
