Its just an analogy (vhs vs beta) to show that the best doesnt always win the
fight. That was my only point.

Dont read too much into my motives or application preference. It is a mere
statement of fact that Beta lost to VHS even though it was better. Freehand
will PROBABLY lose out because it is now owned by its arch rival. Thats all.

Stick to whatever software floats yer boat, but dont over expect that Adobe is
going to allow Freehand to overtake its flagship product.

Ps. and if I were to turn your quote to my own devices "might as well never
listen to classic rock as there are new songs out there"!

So you are saying you should never listen to anything new because the old
stuff was so good. That sounds pretty ridiculous too and if I am allowed to
put words in your mouth like that you might get just as upset. That isnt what
you said and it isnt what you meant.

Quit trying to "win" this argument, I want what you want, I just dont sit in
denial of reality. Adobe is winning this their way, not your way or my way.

Sorry, but that is the sad, sad truth.

As much as I agree with most of you that FH is dead, I still have a tiny bit of
optimism for FH. There is still that NEW ICON that was on John Nack's Color
Wheel. And he said that these Icons went with a new packaging theme that will
be unveiled at a later date. Now we see CS3 packaging and it is true. John Nack
was right that the packaging would tie in with the icons. And it is pretty nice
packaging that does have color wheel identity. Sooooo what i am saying is
perhaps, just maybe, the new FH Icon will be attached to new packaging along
the lines of CS3 packaging. ( NOT in BUNDLES) but alone as a STAND ALONE
product, which is what Adobe has said all along. maybe Im just hoping and
wishing,
but hey, we still dont know for sure.

I kind of doubt it. Both Macromedia and Adobe have had products that were
never updated but continually sold as-is for years.

I assume Adobe will sell Freehand as-is until the support costs outweigh new
sales.
