Default Transform an object from center point

Is there an option to transform an object from center on-the-fly? I mean when I double-click an object and transform bound appears.
Thanks.

Not like you described but...

Use any transform tool like this.

- Change to keyline view because for some reason center point is not always visible in preview mode.
- Turn on 'Snap to point'.
- Activate the objects you want to transform.
- Move cursor close to the center point. (When snapped tiny black square appears nex to the cursor)
- Then just scale, rotate, skew.. use CTRL and SHIT for constraining, ALT for copying.

In the lowly Illustrator transform tools are maybe a bit more awkward but so much better. For example type 50% to the width field, hit enter and the object is scaled. Of course the selected corner or middle point as the reference point. Even free transformation is better - without stupid transform handles (poorly copied from Corel Draw).
