Just not brainy enough to figure this one out. Any > help? I am using Macormedia Freehand MX. A few questions. - Who don't you do the whole stationary design in FreeHand? There is no better program for it. - Have you mage the logo in FreeHand as outlines (Text and outline elements)? - If so why do you need to convert outline graphics into bitmap (pixel) graphics? Too keep the image scalable without jaggies export as eps. Eps has screen image which usually looks horriffic on screen but it looks ok if printed well with a Postscript printer or if exported as pdf file. The export format depends on the program you are making the stationary with, also if it will be press printed. If you have to use jpg just increase the export resolution to get rid of the pixelation. Also use minumum compression/maximum quality. If it will be press printed you have to export it as cmyk or convert it from rgp to cmyk for example in photoshop. If the stationary is press printed you have to use cmyk colors or pantone sport colors. Then you have to have color settings right (Preferences > Color > KDS) in order to see colors correctly on screen. Otherwaise the printed stationary may look very different. Also if you use rgb colors the change can be even bigger and if you use jpg with rgb colors it may print even as black and white. *** Printing houses usually give advice rather than get files they can't use. Most can make the FreeHand files ready for print or make the stationary according to your instructions. It will be more expensive but much cheaper than printing the stationary twice. Jukka |
