I've created a zoom slider to scale a flash symbol up and down. It works great.
What I would like to do is be able to set the origin of the symbol to scale up
or down from that point. Is there a way using actionscript to change the origin
that the symbol would scale from?

I think so. The term you're looking for is "registration point." You'll
need to search on how to move that.
