Default form item layout problem

Hi,
I have come across this weird problem in flex and I have no clue why it
happens so. Somebody could help me.
I have tabbed interface and in a tab container there is an accordion and in
each of the accordions i have a form.
When I add a formitem ie a label to the form we get two labels, one for the
text and other a label inside the formitem
I too get them as well but the two labels which i get are aligned to the right
and there is a lot of space towards the left and when i try to adjust the
lenght of the second label it grows towards right rather than pushing the left
one to the left thereby the gap could be gone. But in a sample application when
i try to create a form i comes fine i.e both labels appear side by side without
any gap..

Thanks in advance...
