Default Preventing scoll on UIComponent

Is there a way to prevent the scroll bars from automatically showing when some
DisplayObject is moved outside the UIComponents viewable area?

I have a Box with a Canvas and finally a UIComponent with 2 images, and a
Transition setup to move the images on the page when switching into that state,
and a transition to move them off when switching out of that state. However,
when the images move out of the viewable area, one of the parent containers
displays scroll bars for a brief second as the images slide out. I would like
to make this stop.
