Default Drag from list to canvas?

Is it possible to drag something from a List to a canvas?

What I need to do is have it at least "appear" that a list item (currently an
itemRenderer of an image and text) has been "dragged" into a canvas area, and
have an image appear on the canvas. It's not really necessary to show the item
being dragged -- any kind of proxy item would be ok, as long as it seems the
user is dragging.

How would you accomplish this?

Yes, it's certainly possible. You'll some combination of list and coins drag and drop at:

Thanks. I will look those over.

After a quick glance, it seems the examples are either list-to-list or non-list to non-list. I'm hoping I can do list to non-list.

There is a section in the docs that describes adding drag/drop functionality to non-d/d enabled components.

yes, but all those are still drag and drop oriented. I needed the equivalent of the flash "startDrag". I eventually imported that and just used it as I used to in Flash. Thanks.
