Default Accessing public actionscript variables

I am getting a compilation error when accessing a public variable defined in
one mxml file from another. The main mxml file includes a viewstack and one of
the mxml file used for a view (myView.mxml) has a DataGrid and one of the
column for this dataGrid uses a custom itemRenderer (GridCombo.mxml in
com.abc.controls package) and I need to pass the public variable in the
myView.mxml (com.abc.views package).

Appreciate anyhelp with this.
Thx.

Think "object" not "file".

If you are in one mxml file and you have a reference to an object, and the
object is defined in a second mxml file, you can reference the object's public
variables. Probably you don't have a reference to the right object.
