Default Flash and Flex Help

I have a flash movie I created in Flash that has a couple buttons in the clip.
Is there a way to make the flash buttons change the currentstate in Flex?

I know in Flex state changes are as easy as currentState='STATENAME';

Flex uses actionscript and so does flash, that is why I am hoping this is
possible.

PLEASE HELP, I appreciate your anticipated response.

Thanks
Todd

Default Re: Flash and Flex Help

Is Flash movie created using ActionScript 3? If so, you button click can
dispatch an event and Flex application can register a listener to this event
and whenever the event is dispatched, change the state.
