Default Update HELL for unsupported OS...

I've already downgraded to 9r47 so that FLASH works properly with my OS and
cpu. Because, flash9f.ocx (9r124) and flash9e.ocx (9r115) use the PSHUFW
instruction which isn't implemented on older cpu's. But, today I
experienced Adobe Flash Player update HELL... This is what browsing the
Internet was like for me all day today:

"Do you want to install and run 'Adobe Flash Player Installer' signed on
10/4/2008..."

clicked 'Yes'

"You are trying to install Adobe(tm) Flahs(tm) Player ActiveX on an
unsupported operating system."
"For Flash Player system requirements, please see http://... "

Okay, so now that my cpu is supported again (PSHUFW problems fixed in FLASH
v10), but my OS (Win98SE w/KernelEx) is no longer supported. Great...

"Unpacking data %xx"

What?!?!?! My OS is not supported, but you unpack the data anyway??????
Silent install failure at this point...

No ability to permanently disable repeated update requests:
