I get following message when trying to install Adobe Flash Player 10: "You do
not have sufficient disk space to complete this installation. Please free 5000 KB and try again". I have 70, 1 GB free so that's not the problem. Don't know if it's a problem that my system is installed on the G: drive. (My harddrive is divided op in 3: G, D and E) Also i installed an version for none-ie first, if that's any clue. Does your machine not have a drive labeled C: ??
An identical bug came up during development in which a machine that did not have a C: drive would throw exactly this error. However, it was marked fixed. So, if that's the case on your machine PLEASE open a technical support web case and reply back with the case number so we can investigate further. I've got the same issue.
Windows 2000 fully patched, latest version of Mozilla SeaMonkey 1.x, using an Administrator account for the install. I uninstalled the Flash Player 9 plugin before trying to install the new version but the Flash Player 9 ActiveX control for IE is still installed. My main drive is F: which has 20Gb of space and there is no C: drive. I see the installer trying to use the correct directory F:\WINNT\system32\Macromed\ and then get the same error message about insufficient free space. Tried rebooting to see if it would help but still got the same problem. I've submitted a support case so I'll post here if I get an answer. In the mean time I recommend downloading and reinstalling Flash 9 Player from the http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/view...4266&sliceId=1. |

Update...
This is a know bug. Was fixed in Flash Player 9, then must have gotten unfixed in the player 10 code branch. It's been reopened and I'll look into a possible technote depending on what happens with it. In the meantime, here's a workaround: Get a usb flash drive and set its letter to C:. This will get you past the disk drive space detection problem and let you then install it onto the hard drive you wish. Bit more info that may help... I just installed the Flash Player 10 ActiveX Control. It installed fine with no C: drive, so this is a Plugin only issue. [/q] Good info, thanks Irongut13. |
