On 7/29/08 we had some trouble with the security certificate for Flash Player
expiring. So some of you may have gotten this error today. The situation is
being fixed very quickly, so please try the Flash Player activeX control
install again later today.

Just adding my 2¢ ... I received the same error as others have listed, Googled
the error message & found this thread. Dell had replaced the motherboard in
this Latitude laptop & the tech hadn't updated the Date & Time settings in the
BIOS, so the system date was off by over a year. I just hadn't noticed,
because I was in a hurry

Once I corrected the Date & Time in the BIOS, all was well & I was able to
install Flash.
