Default Can't hear audio in Flash-served videos

I hope this isn't an inappropriate question for this forum, but I'm trying to
find out how to determine what audio driver and device manager Flash uses when
videos are served up from the Internet (e.g, YouTube, News feeds, etc.).

Starting a few weeks ago, when I watch a YouTude video, for example, there is
no audio. However, I have no problem listening to MP3, WMA, and WAV files on my
hard drive.

I reinstalled FlashPlayer 9.0.124.0, but this didn't help.

My audio device is SoundMAX Intergrated Audio, which driver I reinstalled from
the Gateway PS Drivers disk. Still no help.

I ran the "Codec" reqistry repair programs that some have claimed fixes this
now widespread problem.

Any advice?

Thanks,

Willie

I am having the same problem. I have an apple, and on both safari and firefox,
I can't get flash-sound to work (youtube, pandora). I have found those with
similar issues, but their fixes didn't work for me:

I've tried:
reinstalling and installing flash 9.0.124.0
checking that the audio midi device settings are seting to 44100 Hz
reverting to an older version of flash
checking that I'm not silly and that I'm not on mute

and no dice. Any advice?

I'm having the same problem in Windows Vista. Everything was fine until I
upgraded to Firefox 3.0.1. I updated Flash to 9.0.124.0, still no luck.
Everything is still working great in Internet Explorer, so this must be a
Firefox issue.

I tried everything suggested in TechNote kb402691
(http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/view...2691&sliceId=1),
but everything looks fine.

Grrrrrrr.....
