Make sure you have a document open in Fireworks first. The Common
Library panel should then populate with files. Chances are it will be in
the custom symbols folder.

Hi thank you for your reply BUT!!
i am trying to learn this
http://www.adobe.com/designcenter/fi...mapsymbol_03.h
tml

and when i get to:Choose Commands > Create Symbol Script.
In the Create Symbol Script dialog box, click the "..." button in the
top-right corner, locate the symbol you saved to the Common Library/mysitemap
folder, and then click OK.

Note: In Windows XP, the Common Library is located in the Documents and
Settings/<user account>/Application Data/Adobe/Fireworks CS3 folder. In Windows
Vista, the Common Library is located in the Users/<user
account>/AppData/Roaming/Adobe/Fireworks folder. In Mac OS, it?s in the
Users/<user account>/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Fireworks CS3 folder
on page 3
i click on the ... button and try to follow the path but as i said earlier the
directory "aplication data" does not exist??

any idea?
best wishes Derek

The Application Data folder is hidden by default in Windows XP.

From Windows Help;
To display hidden files and folders.
Open Folder Options in Control Panel.
*Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
*Double-click Folder Options.
On the View tab, under Hidden files and folders, click Show hidden files
and folders.

A search for 'view hidden folders' will bring up the directions if these
aren't clear.
