Default Has anyone used SmartCSS? Should I upgrade to CS4?

I have FW 8 and I've been looking to upgrade to CS4. Is it really much better?
I've also heard about SmartCSS where you can layout in FW and basically have
the CSS written for you in DW. Does anyone have experience with this? I am a
new web designer who designs fairly basic sites. This seems like it would be a
dream come true for someone like me.

Thanks in advance.

It is a big improvement over FW 8 and even CS 3, IMO, but try out the
beta for yourself to see.

I've got some videos up at Layers Magazine and Lynda.com if you want to
learn a bit more.

The CSS export feature does not exempt you from knowing HTML and CSS; it
can help you move forward more quickly, but you still need to know
what's going on under the hood.

I agree with Jim, It's a huge improvement on many levels.

I missed the announcement where Adobe were rumored to be going public with
the release date for CS4 does anyone know when it is?

Peter,

Adobe released the info about Adobe Creative Studio 4 as of 23rd of September.

You can't just miss the info, it is pretty much self-explanatory finding info
right there on spot on main Adobe site.

Peter,

Quick additional clarification, as for product to be available for purchase,
you can only pre-order it now. I believe Adobe release products to market
around October (although I do not know the specific date for that matter).

To do this, you might want to sign up for Adobe CS4 info as to when is the
official release on the product. Hope that helps and happy CS4ing (soon to
be)...

Cheers, DWD

@Ruby,

I totally agreed with Jim's observation on CSS export feature, AND know what's under the hood of HTML and CSS around HTML editing app such as Dw (shortcut for Dw).

Cheers, DWD
