Default Tracking Captivate quizzes in LMS

HEre is the scenario,
OUr client wants online assessments to be tracked on their LMS. We (the
content provider) do not have an LMS yet. So, I am considering creating the
quizzes in Captivate and providing the Flash scormed piece to the client. my
questions are:

1) has anyone done similar thing with an lms? my client uses Saba and they
have a lot of scorm issues. Would captivate quizzes work on thier saba lms?
client wants tracking results. pass/fail, items missed per person, etc.

2) can i import the quiz questions from Word or INDesign into Captivate?

Thanks and any additional ideas are welcomed.

If you're creating SCORM-compliant content for someone to load in their
LMS, you should definitely have access to an LMS to test everything
before you deliver the content!
Maybe the customer can set you up with a test account on their site?
If not, there are a few free (Moodle, Sakai) and a few low-cost
(Inquisiq, WBT Manager) LMS products you should look into...

At any rate, I've seen issues with Saba here but don't recall the
specifics. Search the forum for Saba and I'm sure you'll come up with
several threads on problems and, hopefully, resolutions. Generally, CP
quizzes should very well work on Saba, afaik.

I don't know if you can import quizzes into Captivate. Unless there are
a LOT of quiz questions, it's not terribly time-consuming to just
cut/paste everything in though.

Final thought, I'm pretty sure Flash comes with some SCORM-compliant
interaction templates/libraries. You may want to check into that if you
know Flash well before splitting content between Flash and Captivate...
Cheers,
Erik

Default Re: Tracking Captivate quizzes in LMS

Thanks for your feedback.

We are working with the client so they offered to test the modules for us.

We are creating over 500 questions in different "quiz packages" of minimum of
25, maximum of 100 questions. So, typing or copying and pasting into Captivate
sounds like a headache.

Re: Flash. I'll look into the Flash templates

I am also looking XML content delivered via Flash. But the easiest right now
is Captivate. I'm waiting to see what's the client's input. Also need to know
how much tracking the client needs from the test. For example, do they need the
items that students' missed in the test? Do they want the system to send a
message to their students that they missed certain questions and need to review?

Thanks
