As a very novice dreamweaver user i'm trying to control how template updates
work. My website basically has two different types of pages. One is the home page which consists of the title of my site at the top a large panoramic photo in the middle and links to different slide shows created in adobe Light room. Pretty basic stuff. The second page is a template which was used to make the home page including title and all the links at the bottom. The difference between the two pages is that the second page will have a smaller photo and a small table to the right of the photo which consists of sizing for print, pricing and link to paypal. My question is this...... Is there a way when i update or add a link on the main template page i can update just the link without affecting the panoramic on the home page or the photo with pricing tables on the other pages? The remaining pages of the website will consist of a duplicates of the main template containing additional images that will be listed for sale. Thank you for any suggestions. Owen |

As soon as i get home i will send you the new link. If you want to look at the
current site and click on the print link at the bottom you will have a idea of what the two pages look like. One being the home page and the other will be the page you see under the print link. thanks www.owendawsonphotography.com |

You have no editable regions in the print page. That's not a very good use
of DW's Templates since it means you can only ever have a single child page from that particular Template. -- Murray --- ICQ 71997575 Adobe Community Expert (If you *MUST* email me, don't LAUGH when you do so!) ================== http://www.projectseven.com/go - DW FAQs, Tutorials & Resources http://www.dwfaq.com - DW FAQs, Tutorials & Resources ================== "owenpga" <webforumsuser@macromedia.com> wrote in message news:ga1fqb$pn3$1@forums.macromedia.com... > As soon as i get home i will send you the new link. Here is the newer version of the site. www.owendawsonphotography.com Last
night I actually had it working so that the photo on the home page wouldn't change when i updated the rest of the links. I then made some other changes and now it's not working. for the life of me i can't figure exactly what i did. If you click on the print link it will show you the second page. My goal is to have multiple pages in the print section with a different photo, sizing etc. I then want to be able to add additional links on the home page but keep all existing photos from changing when the update templates is run. Thanks, Owen |
