<sigh>

'capacity' in the above context means 'role'. He held executive
authority (i.e he made the decisions) for the Obama campaign. That
campaign has achived its first objective -- to secure the nomination
of the Democratic Party for the presidency. So his executive skills in
a major undertaking have been proved successful so far -- more
successful than those like Clinton who had a massive head start in
cash and networks. Now Hillary is in debt and he is continuing to
raise more money. Money talks and bulls**t walks, as they say.

Nobody has the 'boots on the ground' that he has, and nobody before
who was non-white has before been a serious chance of becoming
President, which shows that he has been able to overcome historic
challenges. His victory in 95% white Iowa was testimony to his
competence.

What has Palin done to compare with that?

I recall she ran a car wash that couldn't keep up with its paperwork
and took over a dairy (Matanuska Maid) and presided over it going
broke and costing the taxpayers of Alaska about $20 million.
Admittedly, the assets carve up favoured some of her friends like Ted
Stevens, so it wasn't a total loss.
