I have an image aligned left with two paragraphs and a bulleted list to the
right of it. But instead of indenting, the list is sitting flush against the image with all the rest of the text and the bullets overlap the picture. In the browser the bullets are simply gone. When I switch the picture to the right, the bulleted list idents as normal and all looks fine. Anyone know how to fix this? |

I'm new at this. Not sure how much you need.

we may need to see the whole page.
but first, you should change the [BULLET] tags to <ul> and </ul>. if that doesn't help, post the whole page including the stylesheet. rshick wrote: > I'm new at this. Hi Courtney,
I think [BULLET] is how <ul> posted in the web forum transfers over to the newsgroup... oh! ok. well that makes sense. i was wondering where he got that!
sorry about that. in that case, this also happens to me whenever i try to put an image next to a bullet list. i'm not sure why, though. but i usually just add some left-padding to the list. i'd like to know if there's a reason this happens and if padding is the best way to deal with it. So adding left-padding only moves the text and not the bullets. If I add enough
left margin, the entire list (with bullets) move over, but then every other list on the page must follow the same margin rule. CSS is assigning the bulleted list rules based on the left edge of the #container, not based on its relation to the text around it so that when the picture pushes the text off the edge of the container, the bulleted list won't indent any further because it's already been pushed past it's left-margin value. Does this seem right? Is there not a fix for this? |

Consider this markup -
<p class="stylebody"><img src="images/BR Messaging Graphic.jpg" alt="BRUC" width="242" height="322" align="left" style="margin-right:25px;" />Unified blah blah.</p> <ul> <li class="stylebody">7 out of 10 voice calls end up in voice mail. </li> <li class="stylebody">Remote access to voicemail is increasingly beneficial since users spend more and more time away from their desks. </li> <li class="stylebody">Business goals require faster action wherever possible; time in voice mail queues are shorter when unified messaging is used. </li> <li class="stylebody">Microsoft is starting the conversation with their immense Exchange Server install base and popularity of Exchange Server 2007. </li> </ul> (inline style used for convenience and clarity) You might want to consider never using file/pathnames that contain spaces on the web - src="images/BR Messaging Graphic.jpg" -- Murray --- ICQ 71997575 Adobe Community Expert (If you *MUST* email me, don't LAUGH when you do so!) ================== http://www.projectseven.com/go - DW FAQs, Tutorials & Resources http://www.dwfaq.com - DW FAQs, Tutorials & Resources ================== "rshick" <webforumsuser@macromedia.com> wrote in message news:g96fvm$2u2$1@forums.macromedia.com... > So adding left-padding only moves the text and not the bullets. How do you want it to indent?
