Default Help with login page

:confused; just learning dreamweaver (overdue upgrade from frontpage!). need
to create a site with restricted access. have created a login page using asp,
linking to localhost with IIS and using MS access 2003 database. Have created
index page with restricted access which bounces me to the login page, so far so
good. When I test the login page I get the following error message - Error
Type:
Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers (0x80004005)
[Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Driver's SQLSetConnectAttr failed
/login.asp, line 17

This is line 17 - MM_rsUser_cmd.ActiveConnection = MM_trial_STRING;

I can get it all to work just fine if I use a MySQL database and coldfusion,
but I don't want to invest in coldfusion as I don't need the functionality of a
database driven site. Any help would be appreciated.
