Default Connecting Coldfusion 8 to SQL Server 2005 Using Fusion

I have Coldfusion 8 running on my Mac, and SQL Server 2005 running on my
Windows XP OS (Fusion 2.0). I would like Coldfusion to be able to connect to a
local datasource within SQL Server. Can someone give me some step by step
instructions as to how to accomplish this? I realize that I will have to use a
bridged connection, and point coldfusion to an IP address within XP. Just to
reiterate, the datasource is not located on a server, but on my local machine
(XP). Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Default Re: Connecting Coldfusion 8 to SQL Server 2005 UsingFusion

yeah, i cant tell you exactly how to do it because i've never done it before.
But i remember when setting up MySQL, there was a button that allowed for it to
be sent over the network instead of just the localhost. Though this can be a
potential security risk. Because if you can connect to it, other's can as well.

So it's possible to, probably just go into your mysql box and look at the
settings. Just guessing, I dont think it would be that difficult. You'll just
need a switch or a router to connect to your MySQL box and know what IP address
it's on, etc.
