Default Trial Software Won't run

I have downloaded both Contributre and Photoshop as trials and both downloads
went smoothly, as well as installation. However, on both programs, at the
screen that displays the option to enter a werial number or select the trial,
when the trial is selected, I receive an error message that says "a problem was
encountered when trying to load the trial period..." and only gives me the
option of purchasing a serial number. Seems to me that kind of defeats the
purpose of downloading the "trial" software.

I am running Windows Vista w/SP1 and McAfee v. 12.1

Does anyone know why this error occurs on both software programs (Photoshop
and Contribute) and how to solve the problem so I can evaluate the software?

I'm receiving the same error on a trial version of After Effects.
