Default Short Answer Question - Enter Shortcut Problem

Using Captivate 3, as part of a test, I have created a short answer question
that requires a brief answer. I'm showing the submit button only and all
messages. The answer field must be not very high to fit in the page layout so
it only shows one line of text entered.

First problem (with no short cut key on the submit button): If the user
presses the Enter key (which is something that will commonly happen), the text
box jumps to the new paragraph, which (because the textbox is not very high and
only shows one line) means that the previous line of text is now out of view
and to the user it appears that the text box is empty. So they enter the answer
again and click submit, but it is scored as incorrect because it contains the
answer entered twice.

Second problem: So to try to overcome the previous problem, I add the Enter
key as a shortcut on the Submit button. When the user enters the correct answer
and then clicks Submit, the correct answer is scored as incorrect - presumably
because Captivate is processing the Enter key within the text box (i.e. adding
an empty paragraph to the answer in the textbox) prior to evaluating the answer.

This seems to be a bug. Any workarounds? It will look strange if I make the
text boxes more than one line high.

Thanks for any feedback.
