I have a text button set at the beginning of a presentation which is set to
"start" them module. The button is set to the following options -- Display for: rest of slide Appear after: 0.0 seconds Pause after: 0.5 seconds Show hand mouse cursor... The button itself is set to go to next slide on success and to allow user infinite attempts with no shortcut key. There are no quizzes or audio attached to the button. All the elements (text and simple graphics) are set to "display for rest of slide" with everything (including the button) starting at 0.0 and 5 seconds in length on the timeline. Why is it not pausing? |

Thanks for the reply, Captiv8r --
I tried what you suggested, but it didnt work. My button, which is placed on the number one slide, is designed to prompt the user to launch the exercise after reading a short introduction and overview. What happens though, is that right after the captivate preloader clears, the progressbar (within the player control skin of the presentation) will stay paused for approx. 10 seconds, then scroll for the 5 seconds that the content timeline of slide 1 is set for, and then proceed to slide 2. It is completely ignoring the pause at 0.5 seconds instruction of the button |

All of the templates I develop with include a "Continue" button on Slide #1 so
I can provide some introductory text. I've had no problems with the button timing or the movie continuing. Maybe something got corrupt? Did you try deleting Slide #1, inserting a new blank slide, and adding a brand new button? After that, I'd double-check the Properties of your button to ensure everything is correct. |

I've tried deleting the button, the slide, changing the stacking order of the
button in the timeline, the button settings, and as mentioned in my previous response, even trying to achieve the same effect with a click box instead of a button, even made sure I had all the downloadable updates from Adobe...still nothing. The slide still continues to the next slide, completely ignoring the instruction to pause until there's a click. |
