Here is how to change your preferences so that each time Captivate opens up it
will default to the settings that you want: Launch Captivate Click the Edit Menu then select Preferences Preference dialog box will open Under the Recording section, select Defaults. From the Default area you will be able to change your highlight boxes and caption box defaults I hope this helps. -Sherry[num][/num][num][/num][num][/num] |

I don't think this means the recordings defaults. We want control while you are
editing and adding highlight boxes. Who the heck wants to use the default in there now? :-> Speaking of recording captions, you need control over the auto-inserted text too. I don't want "combo box". I want "dropdown list". If you are recording software demos the same captions repeat over and over. Find and replace would be useful, but it misses the point. You need granular control over these setting at both the global and project level so you can save THOUSANDS of wasted keystrokes and complete projects in half the time. |

Hi there masterctrl01
Actually, if you know where to look, you can influence the default text used for captions. Crack open Windows Explorer and navigate to the following location: C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Captivate 3 In that location should be a bunch of text files that begin with the words CaptureTextTemplates_ and ending in .rdl. These are text files that may be edited. I'd probably recommend backing them up before attempting to edit, but if you edit these, you influence what goes into your project. Cheers... Rick :smile; |
