Hi all

You all need to make Adobe aware of your need for the executable updater. You
do this using the Wish Form.

Cheers... Rick :smile;

Thanks Rick, I've done that.

But really, should we have to? Adobe releases a product with several
shortcomings, and then an update that causes even more problems... and WE have
to chase THEM?

Either they just take users for granted, or they are pretty inefficient -
either way it's pretty slack.

I agree. To have a product that has this many bugs, that was clearly not QA'd
properly from the beginning and now being told I have to wish or request
certain things that should be standard is completely unprofessional.

To tell people "have you ever considered letting the the veritical
distribution just have it's way with the way topics are displayed on the
screen" is unbelieveable. There's a reason why I want things displayed a
certain way.

And it should not take this long to have a fix which still does not work
properly and only seems to have fixed issues with Adobe Connect (which I don't
have). What about the vertical distribution problem, what about the sound and
audio issues, how about the random changes in slide timing that seem to occur
out of nowhere, or the fact that the preview sometimes just stops.

Adobe has the potential here for a great product but there lack of attention
to detail, timely fixes and complete inability to update their customers with a
viable solution is a problem.

Hi All

Maybe someone here can please tell me I am NOT going mental:mad;.
I have got Captivate 3, I have the original installation disk and my product
is registered with Adobe, YET, when I try to get the latest update using the
Help/update path within, yes, you guessed it, Captivate 3, I am informed that I
must have Captivate 3 in order to install the update. Is it just me or is this
a problem out there as well??

My normal mental state borders on insanity as it is and this just aint helping.

I've not encountered this problem with my version of Captivate 3. Adobe
licensing across the full suite of tools seems to have been a little jittery
in many ways, and maybe that's what's causing your problem here? First thing
I'd try is a reinstall of Captivate. After that, try talking to tech
support.

Imagine how awful it would be if more of us were completely sane? }:-)

Hi everyone,

We've uploaded the executable of the patch at -
http://swupdl.adobe.com/updates/50/c...ateUpdater.exe.

The Adobe Captivate Downloads page should also be up and running soon.

Sorry for the delay.

So how long does it take to update the web page anyway? Sheeram's original
message saying that the Updates page would include the new patch is from the
beginning of July, and still no sign of it now 5 weeks later.

Very very very unprofessional.

To all, especially Shreeram M V,

I have tried repeatedly without success to download the update. I have the
caption text problem and it is a real pain when you record hundreds, or
thousands of screens in your day-to-day work.

I cannot get the update to download whether I use the AUM or the link below,
or go directly to the downloads page and right clck.

If I use AUM, it will fail at 11.9MB, every time. Then I get some lame
firewall dialogue box. Nevermind that all the other CS3 updates have
downloaded and installed without nary a problem!

So I go directly to the download page and right click. Update starts
downloading, and low and behold, it stops at 97%, EVERY TIME. Doesn't matter
the time of day, if I'm running any other apps, etc. It just won't finish.

Come'on Adobe! Let's deal with this. We pay good money for your software and
we expect it to work.

Please,

Brainswell
