If you put fonts into 'Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Fonts' only Adobe software can find them. FreeHand still is Macromedia product and programmed way before this confusing practice by Adobe, so it can only use fonts installed in Windows/Fonts folder.

This is the best way to use fonts in Windows, I think.
- Use a font manager like Suitcase or MainType.
- Make a well organized fonts folder outside Windows or Program Files folders.
- Clean up Windows fonts folder by moving and organizing all but essential system and web fonts like bitmap fonts, Tahoma, Arial, Verdana, Georgia, etc.
- Move and organize Adobe fonts from Common Files.
- Install 'shortcuts' with the font manager instead of copying the actual font files.
- Uninstall fonts you don't need. This will keep font menu length tolerable. You can also load fonts meaning 'Install Until Restart'.
- Make a backup copy of your new fonts folder.
